LOOKING RUFF LAYOUT

Hello Fellow Crafters!

I have been in a bit of a crafting funk lately, seem to have lost my crafting mojo earlier this week.

Wanted to sit down and finish my PL for February but it just wasn't happening. I do hate when that happens. You find the time to scrap and then nothing comes.

I played around with a lot of stuff, seemed to get out all of my supplies on my desk, as if this would help but I just couldn't create anything. Nothing felt right. I fiddled around with pictures, changing things - the background card, trying different colours, the position of the pic on the card, adding every embellishment known to man and nothing.

So I put it all away and went back to basics, just creating a standard layout, which I blogged about here.

Then after I created that layout I found myself playing around with another photo that I wanted to scrap. I said to myself that I would do something quite different from my usual page, a bit more abstract, lots of tiny details and also use a bit of paint.

This is what I ended up with and I like it!

#THROWBACK THURSDAY

I am still carrying on with my #Throwback Thursday series. Today I am sharing one of my all time favorite layouts - favorite for the subject matter, the colours used in the layout and the style of the layout.

This layout is a #throwback to 2003.

As I mentioned this is one of my all time favorite layouts with it being about my favorite show - Sex and the City! I am sure I am not the only girl who would classify this show as her favorite, or at the very least one of.

I wanted to do something quite girly with this layout so hence the varying shades of pink. I also wanted to incorporate a few pictures along with lengthy journalling - talking about Carrie's story and how much I loved the programme. The journalling was written near the start of the last season so at this point I was unaware of the "Big" reveal for the ending.

I have cut down on my text in my blog posts as I recently read on a forum that not only do people not visit blogs that much anymore but that they also don't really read what is written, mostly just look at the pictures. So if there is not the audience for it, I guess I will keep it short and sweet!

VA-VA VINTAGE LAYOUT

Today's post is a short one.

I seem to have lost my scrapping mojo a little bit lately with my PL so have gone back to basics and created a layout with plain cardstock, a single picture, one piece of themed paper that matches the photo and hardly any embellishments.

I am a big fan of the retro look and for those of you that have read my blog before may know this.

Anything that is sort of vintage or retro style 1940/50's I just love!

This was a simple layout about a vintage style bag that I recently purchased from Top Vintage, one of my favorite online shops. You can find them here, if you are curious.

The leopard print paper is super old, we're talking ancient. I mounted this on plain brown Bazzill cardstock as it didn't pop enough against the black background. I wanted to use these Jewelry Box Thickers by American Crafts specifically so added the strip of rust coloured cardstock as the alphas were lost against the leopard background. Added the 5 x 6 photograph of my recently acquired Vera Pelle bag with my old leopard print heels. Then I added three small gold glittery enamel dots along the bottom of the title strip. Done!
